Character is... your internal engine. Commitment is... your motivation. Faith is... a believer's strength! Hope is... the well of eternal optimism! And discipline is... focus and purpose combined with the character, to enforce the achievement of a productive mind and lifestyle!
Is that too abstract? Are you too tired to grasp it? Come back when you're not so tired.
But if you aren't too tired to think about it... commit yourself to the practice of elevating your thoughts with frequency, until it becomes engrained. Until it becomes a habit. Because with practice, elevating your mind will gradually infuse you with greater physical energy and mental energy! It may cost you a friend or two... people who have been a part of your life whose energy and influence have brought you to a lower place than you really want to be.
